What exactly is Cloak?
A website service for athletes. We build your site from a few answers, host it, and give you a simple editor. After each race you talk, and Cloak writes it up.
Do I need to be any good with computers?
No. That is the entire point. You never see a page builder, a template or a settings screen you did not ask for. If you can send a text message you can keep the site current.
How long does it take to get online?
As quick as you like. Telling us about the driver takes about ten minutes, and you can talk your way through it rather than typing. Your site is set up from your answers straight away and stays private while you finish it. Put it live whenever you are happy. If we build it for you, you get a private link to review within 5 working days.
What does it cost?
Nothing to start. You build your site free and only pay when it goes live. Standard is £11.99 a month or £120 a year. Premium is £13.99 a month or £140 a year. If you would rather we built it for you, that is a one-off £99 on top. See the prices.
Do I need a card to start?
No. You need an email address and nothing else. You only add a card when you choose a plan to put your site live. The 7-day Premium trial needs no card either.
What is the difference between Standard and Premium?
Premium adds effects that make your site move: photo effects, sections that animate in, and a rotating hero. Try it free for 7 days, no card needed.
Can I cancel?
Yes, any time, from billing. Your site stays live until the end of the time you have paid for. We keep everything for 90 days after that, so you can pick up where you left off.
Who writes the race reports? Will it sound like me?
You talk, and Cloak writes it up using AI, in your own voice or as a reporter would. You see it before it goes on your site and can change any word.
I am a parent. Can I set it up for my child?
Yes. You sign up with your own email, and your details are used for anything we send, never the young driver’s.
Will Cloak contact sponsors for me?
No. Cloak writes the proposal and the email, but you send it yourself, so replies come straight back to you.
Can I add videos?
Yes. Paste a YouTube or Vimeo link at any time. Once your site is live, you can also upload clips straight from your phone.
Does it work on phones?
Yes. Sites are built to look right on phones first, and you can update yours from your phone.
Can I use a domain I already own?
Yes, once your site is live. You connect it from your editor in a couple of steps. Or use your cloakweb.co.uk address, which is included and takes no setting up.
What if I want something changed later?
You change it yourself in the editor, whenever you like, including the colours and the look. If something is not working, send us a request from the help in your editor.
Does this work for something other than karting?
Yes. The site is built around a driver's season, but the same thing works for other sports. Ask and we will tell you honestly whether it fits.
